Whether evaluating a sick patient or doing wellness screening, we strive to provide answers as quickly as possible. We are proud to offer blood testing in house that is rapid and accurate. Our radiography (X Ray) equipment is the highest quality available and gives us outstanding images in seconds. Human quality ultrasound gives us a better look inside when necessary. We have a full reference laboratory available when more thorough testing or special diagnostics are necessary.
Laser Surgery and Therapy
Many of our surgical procedures are performed with a CO2 laser that replaces a traditional scalpel. There are many benefits to this approach including less bleeding, less pain, and a more rapid return to normal function. Therapy Laser, also called class IV or “cold laser”, is a safe and effective approach to treating inflammation and pain.
This service is designed to give you access by mobile phone to one of our doctors in the event of an after hours emergency or situation where you need reliable advice. Urgent Care is available after closing time until 10:00 PM, including weekends and holidays. We do not operate a 24-hour emergency clinic but can typically meet our clients to provide care when necessary. Call us at (205) 789-0965.
Pets contribute so much to our lives! Our primary goal is to keep your pets happy and healthy so they can take care of you. We provide the very best in vaccinations, parasite prevention, and screening for common medical problems. Many of the most frustrating and costly problems we see are totally preventable!
We offer a full range of routine procedures like spay & neuter as well as not so routine operations like orthopedics, oronasal surgery, anorectal surgery, and other advanced soft tissue procedures. Our newly renovated surgical suite features high quality LED lighting, heated operating tables, state of the art monitoring equipment, and an ICU recovery unit with heated floors. Pain management is an important and integral part of every procedure we perform!
In addition to a caring and professional staff, our treatment area features hospital kennels with heated floors and an ICU with oxygen capability. We have multiple automated IV fluid pumps and has a recently remodeled isolation area for contagious patients. Visitation is welcome and encouraged while your pet is getting better.
A healthy mouth is essential to overall health and longevity in pets. “Doggie breath” is almost always due to dental infection! We provide dental assessment, treatment, and prevention procedures that will restore your pet’s fresh breath and smile while reducing the risk of painful tooth loss and medical problems. Intraoral radiography (dental x rays) allow us to evaluate dental health below the gumline and is included with every procedure at NO additional cost!
We are proud to offer spacious kennel runs with comfy Kuranda Beds and outside exercise areas. Our accommodations are medically supervised and squeaky clean. Guests enjoy five walks each day and get lots of attention – all at no extra charge. Space is limited, so please plan ahead and make reservations early for holidays and popular travel times.
We LOVE cats! Our doctors have a special interest in feline medicine and we have a special exam room just for cats – no dog cooties allowed! We find that our feline patients appreciate a slower pace. Having a calming pheromones and a litter box in the room, along with a baby blanket on the table, makes the visit less stressful. Our staff members are trained in feline friendly handling techniques. Cats hide sickness extremely well and need to see the doctor each year for a check-up just like dogs.
Fitness and Fun
We now have a regulation sized agility field behind the practice where our coach Beth Willingham’s teams practice each week. We were recently approved by North American Diving Dogs and are planning to bring dock diving to the area in 2019!
Baths and Grooming
We have an excellent groomer with a gentle touch who will have your furry kids looking good and feeling refreshed in no time! Appointments are available Monday – Friday.
